She was ready for it, and very excited. Her teacher is "young and beautiful" as she told me after meeting her at Meet and Greet the week before. And she is young, this is only her 2nd year teaching, and beautiful as well. I was impressed with her, she spoke to each child as if they were the only one she was meeting that day. Her classroom is really neat too, very Pottery Barn-like, if you can imagine that for a classroom.
I had to make the traditional sign, and this year made one for our neighbor Colby as well. He is also in the 2nd grade, and Sophie loves hanging out with him. Actually, we ALL love hanging out with Colby, and his parents Michel and Sylvia too. It is so nice to have neighbors our age with the same age kids that we can do stuff with; we haven't ever had that on our street before now.
They posed nicely for awhile, then got tired and started walking up the hill to the bus stop. Our bus is a whole 10 minutes later this year, it arrives at 7:09. So far, Sophie has ridden it every morning, but then again, today was only the third day.
